Israeli law allows for the registration of trademarks composed of various elements (letters, numbers, characters, graphic forms..). Nevertheless, certain elements may not be registered as trademarks (insignia and emblems of the State of Israel, elements which may lead someone to be mistaken as to the origin of the goods or services, elements which may harm public or third parties' interests, descriptive or generic elements..). Before filing the application, it may advisable to consult with a lawyer.
The procedure leading to the registration of a trademark is composed of the following stages:
International conventions may allow you to take benefit of the priority due to prior filing in a convention country.
By renewing the registration for cumulative 14 years' period, protection of trademark may be granted for an indefinite period of time.
Trademark owner in Israel is entitled to remedies available to citizens of common law countries, including interim and preliminary injunctions.
